The Saiyans
What are sayians?
That is a very simple question to answer. Well they are an elite race of fighters that conquer planets and thrive in battle. We learn nothing about the saiyans in Dragonball but hear about them in the first episode of Dragonball Z. At the beginning of Dragonball Z there is only four saiyans left: Goku, Radias, Vegeta, and Nappa. Also if you wish to count him Gohon, Goku's son, is half saiyan. By the end of Dragonball Z there are: Goku, Gohon, Goten, Vegeta, Trunks, Pan.
What makes a saiyan so special?
A saiyan will get stronger after every fight. Whenever a saiyan fights in a battle and gets closer to death they will come back after they recover and be stronger than they have battled before.This is why their home planet was destroyed. The being that they worked for was afraid that they were getting too powerful and desired to destroy them to keep them from rising up and defeating him. Only a few survived as mentioned above.
Forms of Saiyans
Normal
This is the form that saiyans are born at. Most saiyans in existance never go above this form. Only those who have pushed theirselves beyond normal restaint can surpass this form adn go to the next
Ozaru
This form is a form that is brought about by the waves of the moon reflecting the sun's light. When the saiyan lays eyes upon the moon the transform into this being. Most saiyans when they transform into this from they have no control of who or what they are. Although when Vegeta transforms at the beginning of Dragonball Z he has complete control and also has increased power. The only way to stop this form is to destroy the power of the transformation, moon, or cut off their tail.
Super Saiyan
At this power level, their power and speed increase exponentially. Thier hair turns golden and their eyes turn green. As far as we know in the show, Goku is the first to reach this form. Although Vegeta refers to a super saiyan in a legend who's power was so great that he went crazed with his power and low himself up and the planet he was on as well.
When Goku transformed into one he was able to defeat Frieza and take revenge for the entire saiyan race.
Super Saiyan 2
The main difference of this form and the one before it is the hair becomes more spiky and lightning appears around them. Trunks was the first one to show that he had got to this form but Gohon was the first one that did it right by increaseing his power and not losing speed like Trunks did.
